AlphaPlus is an education consultancy that specialises in the design, development and deployment of qualifications and their underpinning assessment, and in the evaluation of their performance and impact. AlphaPlus is a member of the AQA group.
We are currently seeking two experienced individuals to join our assessment development team in the role of assessment manager. They will be specialists in assessment design and development, and will have a line report to the Deputy Director of Assessment. They will provide high quality assessment outputs as part of AlphaPlus’s assessment research and development services.
They will be able to function independently, leading whole projects or substantial elements of projects and take key decisions concerning the design, development and delivery of assessments.
They will:
- Support the leadership and management of projects, with particular responsibility for aspects of AlphaPlus’ assessment design and development function.
- Provide assessment design, development and delivery services to AlphaPlus clients from project implementation to project closure.
- Manage a range of projects (according to business needs) over the project lifecycle including supporting the production of bids for upcoming projects.
Eligible applicants will possess project management skills and be qualified in assessment design or creation, or possess equivalent experience.
They will also have the following experience:
- Professional experience and demonstrable track record in the design, development and delivery of assessments (3 years)
- Substantial experience of delivering the assessment-related components or projects
- Line management or team leadership (staff or associates)
- Contribution to the winning of bids/tenders or creating commercially successful assessment-related components (desirable).

The post is permanent, full-time working 37.5 hours per week Monday to Friday and is Manchester office-based. The company offers hybrid working (two days per week minimum in the office, with three days working at home). A relocation package is available if appropriate.
