Associate Opportunity
AlphaPlus is working on behalf of the Department for Education to deliver the International Early Learning and Child Well-being Study (IELS) study in schools across England. This will be delivered on a tablet one by one to 15 pre-selected pupils from each participating school. For each child, two study days with 60-minute sessions in each are planned. The study instruments will include different games/riddles reflecting the areas of interest: emergent literacy, emergent numeracy, self-regulation and empathy.
We are currently recruiting a team of study administrators (SAs) to visit schools to administer the trial between January and March 2025. We are looking for teachers, social workers, retired teachers or individuals with experience working in a primary school or experience working with young children.
Prior to the trial there will be a full day in person training session, which is scheduled to take place in the week commencing 6th January 2025 (7th January in London OR 9th January in Manchester). The date will be confirmed shortly.
We anticipate that there will be a few weeks’ work for each selected SA, though this may vary depending on the locations and availability of the participating schools. Availability to undertake this work for a minimum of one full working week is essential. The rate of pay is £180 per day.
All SAs will need to hold a current, valid DBS certificate. This can either be an existing certificate that is registered on the Update Service, or AlphaPlus will support a new DBS application.
If you are interested in applying for this role, we’d be very pleased to hear from you. Please email ielsrecruitment@alphaplus.co.uk with your CV and a brief summary of your relevant experience, by Thursday 30 January 2025 and we will contact you once we have reviewed your application.
If you would like an informal chat before applying, please email Sundus Ahmad, Project Manager, sundus.ahmad@alphaplus.co.uk, who will be happy to arrange a mutually convenient time to discuss.
This is an associate role and successful applicants will be required to sign an associate agreement prior to engagement.
Please feel free to share this opportunity with any contacts who may fit the profile and be interested.
