Dr Yasmine El Masri is AlphaPlus’ Director of Research. Before joining AlphaPlus, Yasmine was Associate Director for Research at Ofqual, where she led a team of researchers and a substantial portfolio of work supporting assessment policy and reform. Her previous experience includes senior roles at AQA and the University of Oxford, where she was a Research Fellow and taught on the Master’s in Educational Assessment. She continues her association with Oxford as an Honorary Research Fellow.
As Director of Research at AlphaPlus, Yasmine is responsible for leading the company’s research strategy and the delivery of high-quality research services. She provides strategic leadership for the Research and Statistics teams and oversees research activities across the full project lifecycle, from design and proposal development through to analysis, reporting and dissemination.
Yasmine has particular expertise in educational research, large-scale assessment, digital assessment and the application of AI in education. She currently chairs the International Testing Commission’s (ITC) Research and Guidelines Committee, leading the development of international guidelines for the use of generative AI in assessment.
